On the morning of May 22, 2026, in response to International Day for Biological Diversity, the People’s Committee of Hai Chau Ward, in collaboration with HiVOOC Co., Ltd., organized a biodiversity-themed photo exhibition and painting activity at APEC Park (Da Nang City). Featuring nearly 300 photos and paintings on display alongside a creative space for students, the event brought nature closer to local residents and tourists, awakening an awareness of protecting the precious ecological values of the city by the Han River.
A Nature Festival in the Heart of the City
Within the framework of Biodiversity Day organized by the People’s Committee of Hai Chau Ward to mark the International Day for Biological Diversity (May 22), 2026, under the theme “Local Action for Global Impact,” the space at APEC Park along the Han River became a gathering point for nature lovers. The event was accompanied by HiVOOC Co., Ltd.—an enterprise deeply involved in primate conservation and environmental education—and attended by over 70 delegates, students, and local residents.
According to the People’s Committee of Hai Chau Ward, organizing this festival aims not only to spread the message of nature protection but also to provide the community, especially the younger generation, with practical, close-to-nature, and inspiring experiences about the richness of ecosystems in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general.
Nearly 300 Artworks Telling Stories of Nature
The highlight of the festival was the exhibition space showcasing nearly 300 photos and paintings on biodiversity, introducing the city’s signature ecosystems. Viewers were taken on a “journey” through the Song Dam wetlands (Ban Thach ward)—the habitat of rare Asian openbill storks and many wild bird species; the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve; and the Son Tra Peninsula—the “green lung” of Da Nang and home to the “queen of primates,” the red-shanked douc langur. Alongside these were vivid moments of wildlife captured by photographers across all regions of the country.

In parallel with the exhibition, the biodiversity-themed painting activity attracted a large number of participating students. Under the shade of APEC Park’s trees, the children fully expressed their creativity, sending their love for nature through every stroke depicting forests, langur troops, and the homeland’s sea and islands. Many whimsical yet message-rich paintings were completed and displayed right on-site, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

The collaboration between the People’s Committee of Hai Chau Ward and HiVOOC Co., Ltd. in organizing the event is a testament to an effective public-private partnership model in environmental communication.
