- Highlight: In this tour, 99% you will be able to capture beautiful pictures of the Cat Ba Langur (Trachypithecus poliocephalus), Delacour’s Langur (Trachypithecus delacouri) and the Hatinh Langur (Trachypithecus hatinhensis). In particular, you will join the Tuyen Hoa Community Conservation Group in planting trees to restore the forest ecosystem for the Ha Tinh langur. Itinerary
Day 1: Ha Noi – Cat Ba Island
Target species: Cat Ba Langur (Trachypithecus poliocephalus).
Cat Ba Langur/ Golden – Headed Langur (Trachypithecus poliocephalus), one of most endangered primates with only 90 individuals left in the world. These monkeys live on the steep limestone cliffs that make up most of Cat Ba Island.
In the early morning: Our team “ HIVOOC’’ will pick you up at Hanoi (or Noi Bai airport) to go to Cat Ba Island in Hai Phong Province. (4 hours)
We will check in to get a Hotel in Cat Ba island and having Lunch.
In the afternoon:
We go by boat to the langur’s living area to capture the moments when they are grooming their babies on the cliff before going to their sleeping caves.
Day 2: Cat Ba island – and go to Van Long Nature Reserve
Target species: Delacour’s Langur (Trachypithecus delacouri)
5.00 am: We go by boat to the langur’s living area to capture the moments when they are foraging.
10.00 am: We will return to the main island for breakfast and check out the hotel. 12:00 am: We will leave the Island to go to Van Long Nature Reserve (5 hours by transfer) We will have lunch on the way. 17:00: We will check in the hotel at Van Long area.
Day 3: Full day in Van Long Nature Reserve
Target species: Delacour’s Langur (Trachypithecus delacouri)
We will have a full day to explore Van Long Nature Reserve, the largest wetland nature reserve in northern Vietnam. Here we will take a sampan to the dramatic limestone cliffs that home to the Critical Endangered primate “Delacour's Langur”. This species is endemic to Vietnam and is found only in the North-central part of the country. One of the interesting facts about this species is its local name “voọc quần đùi trắng” (loosely translated as “langur with white pants”) – derives from the sharply delineated markings, which give the visual impression of a predominantly black monkey wearing a pair of knee-length white shorts.We will have a full day to explore Van Long Nature Reserve, the largest wetland nature reserve in northern Vietnam. After that we come back for dinner and rest at the Hotel.
Day 4: Van Long –Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve
After having breakfast we will take a car going to Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve (5 hours by transfer).
We will have lunch in a local restaurant on the way.
Around 1-2 pm we will arrive at Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve for check in the accommodation (Hotel/ or Community house)
Day 5-6: Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve (Quang Binh province)
Target species: Ha Tinh Langur( Trachypithecus hatinhensis)
We have two full day in the Conservation protected area for explore and take photos of Ha Tinh langur( Trachypithecus hatinhensis), they normally appear early moring and late afternoon and sitting on tree branches or sharp cliffs.
The Ha Tinh Langur is an endemic species to Vietnam and Laos with a total population of about 3000 individuals. They are especially adapted to living in limestone karst, they sleep in caves and get stored water in rock holes for drinking. Like other langurs, their diets consist of leaves, vine unripe fruits.
Day 7: Tuyen Hoa – Domesic Dong Hoi airport.
In the morning after having breakfast our team “HIVOOC “ will bring you to domestic Dong Hoi airport transport. From here you can take flight to International Noi Bai Airport (Ha Noi City) or International Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City).
(Other option could be: going by car back to Hanoi)

Physical difficulty
Mostly easy walking along tracks, roads, and trails, but there will be a few inclined sections in the mountains.
