- Highlight: In this tour, 99% you will be able to capture beautiful pictures of the Red- Shanked Douc Langur (Pygathrix nemaeus), Grey- Shanked Douc Langur (Pygathrix cinerea) and Ha Tinh Langur (Trachypithecus hatinhensis). In particular, you will join the Tuyen Hoa Community Conservation Group in planting trees to restore the forest ecosystem for the Ha Tinh langur. Itinerary
Day 1: Da Nang – Son Tra Nature Reserve
Target species: Red- Shanked Douc Langur (Pygathrix nemaeus).
We will have full days to explore Son Tra Nature Reserve, only half an hour from Da Nang City. This Reserve is a beautiful peninsula, the only peninsula in Vietnam that has a natural forest ecosystem associated with the sea. Especially, this area is also considered the kingdom of the “Red-Shanked Douc Langur” - Indochina’s endemic primate which is a species that could face extinction in the near future without proper conservation efforts. This area is also the best and easiest place in the world to observe this wonderful primate in its natural habitat. 💚 We, HiVOOC, are jubilant to operate the primate tour “THE QUEST FOR THE QUEENS WITH EXPERTS IN SON TRA PENINSULA” to entice our customers into exploring the ethereal nature of Son Tra and its queens, the red-shanked douc, as well as getting insights into the conservation measures we are taking to protect such magnificent species! Day 2: Da Nang – Tam My Tay Reserve
Target: Grey- Shanked Douc Langur (Pygathrix cinerea).
After having breakfast, we will going to Tam My Tay, in Quang Nam Province ( 2,5 hours by Car)
We will arrive around 9:00 to Tam My Tay
We will stay in a Hotel in Quang Nam Province
We have a full days in Tam My Tay Reserve for to explore and take photos of Grey- Shanked Douc Langur ( Pygathrix cinerea). This is the most colorful of all primate species.
After the day in Tam My Tay, we will have the opportunity to meet and hear conservation stories from the Tam My Tay Community Conservation Team.
Day 3: Tam My Tay–Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve
After having breakfast we will take a car going to Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve (6-8 hours by transfer).
We will have lunch in a local restaurant on the way.
Around 2-3 pm we will arrive at Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve for check in the accommodation (Hotel/ or Community house)
Day 4-5: Tuyen Hoa Nature Reserve (Quang Binh province)
Target species: Ha Tinh Langur( Trachypithecus hatinhensis)
We have two full day in the Conservation protected area for explore and take photos of Ha Tinh langur( Trachypithecus hatinhensis), they normally appear early moring and late afternoon and sitting on tree branches or sharp cliffs.
The Ha Tinh Langur is an endemic species to Vietnam and Laos with a total population of about 3000 individuals. They are especially adapted to living in limestone karst, they sleep in caves and get stored water in rock holes for drinking. Like other langurs, their diets consist of leaves, vine unripe fruits.
After the day in Tuyen Hoa, we will have the opportunity to meet and hear conservation stories from the Tuyen HoaCommunity Conservation Team.
Day 6: Tuyen Hoa – Domesic Dong Hoi airport.
In the morning after having breakfast our team “HIVOOC “ will bring you to domestic Dong Hoi airport transport. From here you can take flight to International Noi Bai Airport (Ha Noi City) or International Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City).
(Other option could be: going by car back to Da Nang)

Physical difficulty
Mostly easy walking along tracks, roads, and trails, but there will be a few inclined sections in the mountains.

Broadleaved evergreen forest, Evergreen forest, Secondary forest, Dry dipterocarp forest, Wetland, Rice field, Mountain forest, Pine forest, Bamboo forest, Shoreline.
Key target primates and mammals
